Finally, a big-time Thursday night game! The Cardinals have the league’s toughest December schedule, so they might need this win to secure a playoff spot and keep their bye – week hopes alive.
Meanwhile, the Vikings need a win to prove they’re legit. In their two games against high-level teams, home games against the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks, they were dominated by a combined score of 68-20. A loss tonight would be their third in four games, and would open the playoff door for a variety of teams.
Add in a multitude of injuries to the Vikings defense, and the disappearance of everyone in their offense barring Adrian Peterson, and it’s hard to pick the Vikings. I see Peterson rebounding from a rough game in last week’s 38-7 shellacking at the hands of the Seahawks, but I see the Cardinals winning regardless. They were my dark horse pick to make the Super Bowl, and I expect them to hold serve in an entertaining game here.
Prediction: Vikings 20, Cardinals 28.
