NCAA Tournament Elite Eight Saturday quick picks.

And then, there were eight. After blowouts highlighted the Thursday Sweet 16 gsmes, controversy shrouded last night’s contests. Regardless, we are down to eight teams remaining, with a pair of chalk games being played tonight. Will the two one-seeds prevail, or will a two-seed pull off an upset? It should be a dandy regardless.

West Regional Final (6:09/5:09c, CBS)

(2) Oklahoma vs. (1) Oregon

Offense. That’s the best way to surmise this one. Both teams can light up the scoreboard, led by Oklahoma’s Wooden Award frontrunner Buddy Hield. Honestly, Oklahoma should, and likely will win. However, Oregon deserves a bone, after being underrated for years. So, I’ll go against my better judgement and pick the Ducks. Prediction: Oklahoma 76, Oregon 78.

South Regional Final (8:49/7:49c)

(2) Villanova vs. (1) Kansas

For years, Villanova has been a Big East Power. Every time though, they choke in March. However, Jay Wright’s squad finally seems to have gotten it together, making their biggest tournament run in a long time. Ryan Arcidiacono is their senior leader alongside fellow senior Daniel Ochefu and juniors Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins.

I would love to see an upset. However, Perry Ellis, Wayne Selden, Devonte’ Graham and company are without a doubt one of the top four teams in college basketball. An upset is possibly, but I’m not going to pick it. Prediction: Villanova 78, Kansas 83
