NCAA Tournament Elite Eight Sunday game predictions.

Two games. That’s all that’s left standing between now and the Final Four. Yesterday’s games featured a pair of two seeds topping a pair of one seeds, including Villanova ‘ shocking upset over Kansas.

Today, we get a pair of ACC rematches. No, neither game is as intriguing as yesterday’s were, but there’s still a chance that an upset or two may possibly occur, especially since both games are rematches from earlier in the season. Here are my picks for today’s Elite Eight games.

Midwest Regional Final  (6:08/5:08c, TBS)

(10) Syracuse (1) Virginia

It’s not often a ten seed makes it this far into the tournament. However, when you face an overseeded seven seed, followed by a 15 seed and then an 11-seed. Basically, it was the easiest road to the Elite Eight in NCAA Tournament history.

They played Virginia earlier this year, back in January. Virginia won that game by eight teams in Virginia. Malcolm Brogdon is one of the best players in the country, Anthony Gill is a double-double fixture, Perrantes is a solid point guard, and Tobey is a good six man. Together, I see them sending Syracuse packing. Prediction: Syracuse 68, Virginia 76

East Regional Final

(6) Notre Dame vs. (1) North Carolina (8:49/7:49c, TBS)

The final Elite Eight game is truly fascinating. The first time the two squads played, Notre Dame won 80-76 at home. But earlier this month, in the ACC Tournament semifinals, Carolina throttled the Irish by an 80-47 score.

Notre Dame’s Zach Auguste is a double-double machine, and Demetrius Jackson is a first round draft pick in the making. But, Brice Johnson is the best player in the game. Marcus Paige is a senior leader for the Tar Heels, and I see their duo, along with Kennedy Meeks possibly winning it all. Prediction: Notre Dame 75, Carolina 84.
